Monster BT bill man gets reprieve

Another nice story from the Reg Xmas Cracker

Published Monday 18th December 2000 14:56 GMT

Remember Nick Everitt? He received a quarterly phone bill in September for £1,465 even though he was dialling a freephone Net access number. The bill, which was 467 pages, reduced his wife to tears.

However, in this season of goodwill to all men, BT has revised down the bill to just £190, writes Nick in a touching Christmas card to The Register.

Peace on earth and goodwill to all men - that's what we say - even if it is BT. ®
