Hot survey action: Windows v Linux

Your input required on desktop deployment debate

Reg Reader Studies Survey closed

One again we're asking our beloved, tech-savvy readers to lend us a hand in taking a pressure reading on the IT barometer. This time the issue is a bit of a hot potato - Windows versus Linux on the desktop battlefield.

Yup, it's that OS polemic again, and we'd like you to take a few minutes to give us your input on how your organisation deploys operating systems and what your opinion is of Linux as a viable alternative to Windows. Questions include the provocative "What is your attitude to Windows XP?" and "If Microsoft Office was available on Linux, would this make you more likely to switch from Windows?"

We note at this point that the survey is specifically designed to test the water temperature in the Windows/Linux plunge pool. Accordingly, there is no Mac OS option here, an outrage for which we apologise unreservedly while noting that Mac users are generally more sexually attractive to members of the opposite sex.
