A man is due in court in Oxfordshire today to face 12 charges relating to the recent string of letter bombs in the UK.

Miles Cooper of Cherry Hinton, Cambridge, faces 12 charges under the Explosive Substance Act and the Offences Against the Person Act. He is expected to appear in court in Banbury later today.

Cooper, a school caretaker, was arrested early on Monday morning. Forensic searches of his home continue.

Earlier this month, letter bombs exploded at Capita, the firm which administers London's congestion charge, an accountancy firm with links to a speed camera firm, and the DVLA. The charges charges cover a total of seven devices.

ACPO national coordinator for domestic extremism Anton Setchell said the investigation was progressing well. He thanked staff and pupils at Teversham Primary School, Cambridge (where Cooper worked), for their help and support.
