HP and Pelikan have reached an out of court settlement over HP's accusations that the printing supplier was selling new printer cartridges while claiming they were recycled.
The hearing was scheduled to take place today.
HP alleged that Pelikan was selling new, and patent infringing, printer cartridges and branding them as recycled, thus avoiding paying patent fees to HP.
A second case accuses Pelikan of inaccurate advertising, on the basis that its products were labelled as recycled when they were in fact new. It's not yet clear if HP's going to drop that action as well. ®
