Not wanting to go back to bedlam, James Hillier Blount aka James Blunt is to see his latest album sold to US fans through MySpace.

Warner Music Group (WMG), which has the artist signed up to its roster, appears to be hoping to cash in on social [cough] networking sites by making Blunt's entire album, All the Lost Souls, available to listen to for free.

Ex-Captain Blunt has been going down a storm stateside since his keep-granny-grinning music hit the dance floors in 2004.

According to the Financial Times, from today US customers will be able to fill their ears with the ex-military man who once stood guard over the dead body of our beloved Queen Mum.

If fans are unable to resist the allure of the inoffensive You're Beautiful star's girly voice, an iTunes download and copy of the album can be theirs for $9.99.

WMG's decision to punt Blunt via MySpace is undoubtedly a reaction to the downward spiral in CD sales hitting the entire music industry.

Many of the world's largest music firms have in recent months been experimenting with different business models in the hope of offsetting declining sales.

Earlier this year, EMI signed a deal with Apple to make its catalogue of music available via iTunes unencumbered by the much-criticised, consumer unfriendly digital rights management technology. ®
