Galaxy Note 7 US flight ban

The US Federal Aviation Administration is extending its ban on the self-destructing Samsung Galaxy Note 7.

The regulator is set to ban the device on any US flight – even when the exploding gadgets are powered down.

While use of the fire-prone Note 7 had already been forbidden on flights, the FAA had been letting users carry the phablet aboard planes as long as they remained off during the flight.

This as Samsung has extended its recall to all Note 7 units, and has been providing users with fireproof boxes in which to return their phablets (via ground shipping) for disposal. ®
