Dell to open third factory in Ireland
Move timed to coincide with Clinton's visit
The Dell Corporation has announced it will open another computer manufacturing plant in Limerick, Ireland, promising another 1,700 jobs for the Republic. The news was timed to coincide with the visit of President Bill Clinton to the city. Dell will spend I£90 million on constructing the plant and when the factory is complete, it will have nearly 6,000 employees in Ireland. Last April, Dell took over AST’s former factory in Limerick, after the PC vendor hit rough times. The 340,000 square foot factory will be located next to its HQ in Raheen. ®
