The Register has received this statement from e-venture capital outfit, Durlacher, about reports that it is to withdraw from some dotcom investments.
At Durlacher we remain passionate about the opportunities presented by the convergence of technology, communications and media, and continue to be involved in the creation and development of promising early stage internet and media companies."Contrary to earlier wholly incorrect reports on the newswires, we are continuing to invest in internet, media and convergence start-up companies. This will include best of breed firms and ideas covering all areas of the internet including business-to-consumer and business-to-business opportunities."
This appears to contradict remarks made by a senior consultant at Durlacher that the e-outfit was moving out of b-2-c dotcoms unless it is a "very compelling proposition".
