Action stations for bid approach
Go away, reseller says
Action Computer Supplies today said it had received an unsolicited offer to buy the company. "This offer was rejected on thebasis that it substantially undervalues the Company."
Action says it remains committed to its "Web-centric business strategy" and is very confident that the benefits of lower costs and growing on-line sales will become increasingly evident over the coming months.
The statement was prompted by a 9p jump in its share price yesterday, big enough for the company to top the small cap index.
Action was jilted at the altar last October, when a US mail-order reseller giant walked away from a deal to buy the company. At the time, Insight blamed a deterioration in Action's operating results.
- Computer Warehouse, the British mail-order reseller is to float on AIM, valuing the company at £14 million. The company turns over around £25 million a year. ®
