HWRoundup Britney Spears spices up semiconductors

It's not all reports from IDF you know...

Today we decided that the Intel Developers Forum was being covered more than adequately just about everywhere, so we wanted to shine the light on other goings on in the hardware community - if only to reassure ourselves and you that other things are still going on.

For example Sharky is running an Intel Developer Forum "special" this week, but they still found time to produce their weekly CPU price round up, along with all the usual disclaimers. And no, just because it's an IDF "special" doesn't mean everything is cheaper. Click here.

But how long can we go on just looking at gaming cards? Not long, as evidenced by the rapid topic switch to Planet Hardware's guide to installing a motherboard. If you have experienced a shudder of fear at the prospect of upgrading your own machine, click

for information and a bit of reassurance.

And we couldn't let the day go by without mentioning the Asus A7V could we? No, we couldn't. PC Roddin (we think they lost the 'g' somewhere) has posted its take on the board. What did they think? Click

And lastly today is something we've been meaning to point you all to. If you wondered about the basics of semiconductor physics but thought it a bit dry, then maybe

this

will help. Can anybody say "Britney Spears"? I've already sent the link to my Solid State lecturer from University.®
