Cahoot recalls debit cards

Blames it all on Visa

Abbey National's Internet bank, Cahoot, has had to recall all its customers' Visa cards after they failed to work in supermarkets and shops.

All current cards will be cancelled at the end of this month and new ones will be issued. According to a Cahoot spokesman - no stranger to enormous cock-ups - the company knew about this problem at launch and sent emails to those that were "potentially affected". Bunkem. Another Internet bank, another bleedin' cock-up. Why don't we all just give up on the online banking idea now and go back to visiting the local branch? Cahoot should know better - when it launched its servers crashed horribly and it was left with Egg on its face - oh no, hang on, that's another Internet bank that has completely failed to produce even a good level of service... ®
