Private Media Group Inc - the NASDAQ-listed peddler of porn - has signed an advertising and directory deal with AltaVista in a bid to grow its business.
The adult entertainment outfit will advertise its wares on AltaVista's sites in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia and the Pacific.
In return for pointing sex-related searches to Private, AltaVista can expect to receive a share of the revenue if people sign up to the subscription based adult sites.
The deal is absolutely massive for Private. According to Berth Milton, CEO of Private, half of all searches on AltaVista's search engine are sex related.
Which means Private can expect to get half of all the 50 million search enquiries made each day.
He added: "Private today has more than 1,000,000 new visitors to its web sites every month and through this alliance we expect the number of new visitors to grow exponentially.''
The coupling arrangement is due to go live from November 15. ®
