SOYO has a brace of double data rate (DDR) memory motherboards for both AMD Socket A Durons and Athlons as well as Intel's Socket 370 chips.
The Socket A SY-K7ALA-R features Acer Labs ALiMAGiK chipset, which can support either a 200MHz or 266MHz systems bus. The mobo lists at $129 with discounts for volume.
The SY-7ALA-R supports Intel's FC-PGA 370, Pentium III and Celeron II CPUs and uses Ali's Aladdin Pro5 chipset with support for 200/266 system bus speeds. One-off pricing is $119.
Standard features on both boards include three DDR SDRAM memory slots. Expansion slots include five 32-bit PCI slots, one AGP 4x/2x/1x slot, a pair of ATA-33/66/100 IDE ports; two serial ports, one parallel port, floppy port and infra-red.
Both boards also have USB version1.1 with six ports (two rear and four front) along with an optional Sigmatel AC97 CODEC. Both mobos also offer jumperless configuration including changing CPU, FSB and PCI bus clock speeds. The CPU core voltage can also be adjusted through the BIOS.
The boards also ship with a Symantec CD-ROM bundle including Norton AntiVirus, Norton Ghost, and a Virtual Drive CD-ROM emulation application. ®
