Reg SETI group sweeps all before it
The Power of The Vulture
Vulture Central, the Reg SETI (Search for Extra Terrestrial Intelligence) group, has raced to number one in the league table of Top 200 Government Organisations helping search for aliens. This feat was achieved in less than a week, writes Andrew Thomas.
Vulture Central was originally formed by 35 regulars from the Reg forum, and following our story last week, membership has soared to over 450, with a cumulative total of 219,828 work units completed using a staggering 317.97 years of CPU time.
The group is well ahead of such piffling organisations as NASA, the NSA, MI6, Slashdot and the US Army. Such is the power of the Vulture, that the group now ranks 66th out of 2,884,481 users worldwide and is set to overtake Symantec some time in the next few hours.
Don't delay, sign up today - we still have some way to go to catch current top dogs Sun Microsystems with 3,196,632 completed work units, but they've been at it for an awful lot longer... ®
