Wireless Palm m700 debuts on Web
Slimline follow-up to the Palm VII?
Palm's successor to its Palm VII wireless-enabled PDA has leaked out onto the Web, courtesy of three black-and-white snaps over at PalmStation.
Codenamed Skywalker, the device - ultimately to be known as the m700, following Palm's new naming scheme? - appears to sport a plastic back (the inset text gives it away) with a metallic front (though whether it's coloured plastic or a true metal design isn't clear). Either way, think m100 done up to look like an m500 - or a more curvaceous m500.
There's the now obligatory Secure Digital Memory Card slot on the left hand side of the device, mounted behind and just above the power switch.
At the top is the antenna 'bump', at the other end what looks like a Universal connector. On the back are two m500-style accessory connector notches.
The regular Palm's Notepad button has been replaced with an email icon. The Graffiti panel is a standard PalmOS 4.0 version.
Palm has already gone public with its plan to ship new wireless-enabled PDAs, so the appearance of Skywalker is no great surprise. ®
