Dotcom adverts plumb new depths

Enough is enough

It had to happen. Dotcoms, desperate to sell their product by whatever means available, have stepped over the line dividing legitimate advertising from flagrant abuse of personal liberties.

At 6.00pm on Friday 25 May, the staff of Vulture Central decanted en masse to local hostelry the Old Monk. This ritual 'production meeting' is eagerly anticipated by Reg hacks, conducted as it is in an entirely IT-free environment. Or so we thought.

It was only after we had already ordered several pints of foaming ale that the horrible truth became plain. Pub regulars who have hitherto enjoyed viewing the world through the bottom of a beer glass are in for a nasty shock - dotcom advertising fused into your pint.

That's right - the Old Monk's owners have sold advertising space on the bottom of every beer glass to an online gambling company. In doing so, they have ignored a fundamental tenet of Western civilisation - Don't mess with a man's pint.

Our advice to the company in question is that they rather fuse their logo into the ceramic face of the men's urinal. We can then literally express what we think of their advertising campaign. ®
