Time Computers squashes maverick staff site

The best source for UK system builder info is censored

The highly entertaining website, which aired the views of current and ex Time employees, has been taken over by the company.

Go to tahirmohsan.co.uk now and you'll find a Time homepage plugging the company's offers.

The site had achieved a cult following with system builders and computer retailers. Staff at Dixons and Tiny logged in regularly to read the inside information about Time's customer service, PC build quality, and company politics.

While at the Computex tradeshow in Taiwan I even met the boss of a New Zealand business who liked to check out the site.

As a resource to get detailed information about what a major UK PC operation was doing it couldn't be beaten. As a warning to employers about how powerful disgruntled staff can become it was pretty good too.

Tahir Mohsan founded Time with his half-brother Dr Tariq Mohammed (but the company is currently run by new CEO Brian Lynn). Mohsan set his lawyers on closing down tahirmohsan.co.uk as soon as he found about it and even asked the Reg not to link to it and encourage them.

If the founders of tahirmohsan.co.uk set up another site, please get in touch. We'd be happy to link to you (as long as the BNP-supporting racists aren't posting to it). ®
