Intel confirms July for 1.8GHz Pentium 4 launch
1.6GHz part coming soon too
Intel has confirmed the arrival of 1.6GHz and 1.8GHz Pentium 4 processors next month.
Speaking at TechX in New York, Intel sales and marketing chief Mike Splinter said the company would introduce the parts in July.
On 2 July, to be precise, sources claim.
As expected, Intel has been demonstrating its 0.13 micron Mobile Pentium III-M processor, better known by its codename, Tualatin, at TechX, and Splinter said the chip will be launched sometime during the next three months.
We hear, incidentally, that said launch has been brought forward from its original date of 30 July to 15 July, presumably so it's not overshadowed by the launch of desktop Tualatins on 8 August. ®
