So, BT is to partly convert some of its exchanges into luxury flats. You'd imagine, then, that it would be pretty easy to get ADSL run up to your new penthouse suite. Not so, says Colin MacDonald:

Ha, I bet they *still* claim that they're too far away from the exchange to get ADSL. "Sorry, mate, looks like you've got a bit of plasterboard in the way, and that stripy wallpaper, that'll degrade your signal something chronic. Bloody hell, a *joist*! Nah, best we can do you is ISDN..." ;)
