Linux PS2 website speaks with forked tongue

Clear as mud, apparently

PS2 Linux Kit heading for the US?

On the subject of the Japanese website illustrating the PS2 gear in question, Eugene Magnier would like to clarify the linguistic situation:

I just wanted to note that, while you say:

"If you find yourself interested in the PS2 Linux Kit, the official (Japanese) website is here. They're not keen on Western visitors so there's no translation, but you can see some images of the thing."

I beg to differ. While it is true that it is in Japanese, it is written at a very basic level that even second year student should have no trouble reading. Almost no Kanji is used (where Kanji is used, it is a very simple subset), most is in Kana, and much of the text is even in English (ie, Linux, etc).

Just 'cause the entire world isn't comfortable in English doesn't mean they are trying to exclude anyone, and this site clearly is making an attempt to make the information accessible.

Indeed. Perhaps English websites might like to make their content more accessible to non-speakers of English by simply using shorter words. That should do it.
