Chelsea heads the Premiership Net tables

More guff survey results from publicity hungry company

Updated Chelsea is set to win the Premiership league - in terms of the Internet anyway. In the second survey we've seen so far on football team Web sites in the UK Premiership league, Chelsea loaded faster than any others - in just 0.7 seconds.

There are some that believe it will win the football as well, but the bookies aren't giving great odds on it at the moment - for the simple reason that they won't.

As we can expect at the end of the season*, Liverpool just pips Manchester United to the post, loading in a minimum time of 7.3 seconds, with Man U on 10.7 seconds. But they are both beaten by Ipswich Town and Sunderland - most likely because no one supports them.

Anyway, enough of this rubbish. An identical survey was run by Silicon.com a couple of days ago, which had Man United heading the league with a time of 1.61 seconds. The worst was apparently Leeds United with 10.27 seconds - near the bottom in our survey, but with 31.4 seconds. Second worst in the survey we have - Charlton Athletic - was one of the best in the other survey.

However, Ipswich, Sunderland, Liverpool and Man U were in the top five in both, so we can assume they are the best. Why? Because, like we said, no one supports Ipswich or Sunderland and those that do haven't found the Internet. And Liverpool and Man U are the two most famous teams when looking at it from a worldwide perspective and have invested the most money.

Quite simple, the two surveys have been done at different times, over short periods, in the hope of capturing some publicity for whatever company was behind them. And it's worked cause we've written about it.

What was the company in our case? Segue. It produces software that claims to improve your Web site's performance. So there you go. ®

Update

It seems as though this article has been posted on an Ipswich supporter's site judging from the number of flames that have been arriving in the inbox. We try very hard not to use this, but unfortunately it seems inevitable this time.

It's just a joke you idiots
