Excite@tHome CFO resigns

Wanted: Miracle Worker

Troubled Internet outfit Excite@Home - is on the hunt for a financial wizard after top money-man, Mark McEachen, threw in the towel yesterday.

And let's be honest, anyone replacing the executive VP and CFO will have to be a miracle worker or a magician - or both - to dig Excite out of its financial hole.

Last month Excite@Home warned that that it didn't have enough cash to see it through to the end of the year.

Excite@Home's troubles were further compounded when its auditors, Ernst & Young, said that it had a "substantial doubt about the company's ability to continue as a going concern".

Shortly after it emerged that Excite@Home had dismissed Ernst & Young as the company's independent auditors.

In a statement issued yesterday Excite@Home said that that McEachen had resigned and will occupy his time by "pursuing other opportunities". ®
