A masterclass in ISP nonsense from 08002go.com

You'll love this

When is a business not out of business? When the managing director of 08002go.com says so.

In a hilarious bout of ostrich hide-and-seek, Dennis Cawley has attempted to persuade customers that everything is hunky dory despite the fact that the entire service is to be shut down from today. Thing is though, it'll all be up and running and even better from next month.

Seems some people don't quite believe this and have said so - sparking Dennis to write (among many many other things): "To those people, you know you are not fooling anyone out there. Your fellow members take no notice at all of your bogus so called Webmaster claims and all the nonsense you have been writing over the past weeks.

"Just look, for example, at the berk who posted on a Forum that you could have our service for £60 a year if you sent in your payment within seven days. Totally untrue. All we can think of these people are sick and need help. Do these sort of idiots think that any one sensible believes their dribble, or perhaps its just that they never got any toys for Christmas. Who knows or for that matter who even cares."

A cry for help? Maybe.

When customers couldn't get on the unmetered service (only £9.98 per month or £99.96 per year) on 12 September it was because of the US attacks. When they couldn't on 14 September, it was thanks to "essential engineering works". On 19 September, they had "pin-pointed" the problem - billing software! The reason no one has been able to contact the ISP is because "members are ringing to enquire on the latest status of our service". Which can be concisely termed "dead". Oh, and the contact page from its Web page has been removed.

Please go to the homepage http://www.08002go.com if you are feeling grumpy today. Quickly though before 08002go tries to improve its service any more. ®
