Teenage dotcom millionaire to star on Weakest Link special

Teenage "dotcom millionaire" Ben Cohen is to star in a special episode of gameshow The Weakest Link, likely to be aired on 17 December.

The episode is being sold as a millionaire's special, although Mr Cohen is only a dotcom millionaire, which is not the same thing at all. The show is famous for host Anne Robinson's withering put-downs and catchphrase: "You are the weakest link. Goodbye."

The other contestants in the charity special were all self-made businessmen, although the BBC is unwilling to give further details of who exactly they were at this time.

Ben was the youngest among the contestants and ended up being voted off early - something that he was less than happy about. Mr Cohen told staff at the Internet incubator company Cube8 - where his latest venture is based - that one contestant said he didn't like him because he was "young and successful".

Ben - who now spends two days a week at University studying Theology - also reportedly got "uppity" with Anne Robinson, saying that contestants could see what names the others had written for expulsion from the game.

Mr Cohen is famous for setting up SoJewish.com, which was valued during the dotcom boom at $5 million. It was eventually sold to rival TotallyJewish, netting him £215,000 for his share. He then started portal CyberBritain and controversial porn search engine Hunt4Porn and was featured in TV programme Trouble at the Top.

A spokesman for CyberBritain told us yesterday that it was talking to a company with regards to selling the portal and its search engine. The company in question is widely thought to be Affinity, which did a no-money deal with CyberBritain at the start of the year. ®
