Updated Kay Hammond, a 24-year old blonde 'Internet entrepreneur' from Birmingham, has auctioned herself off on eBay with a reserve price of £250,000.
Ms Hammond, currently MD of TAMBA Internet, says one of the only things she hasn't succeeded at is getting married.
The description of eBay item 1677522500, "Buy an entrepreneur wife", says she was featured in the 2002 Official Who's Who of Young Entrepreneurs and has achieved all of her ambitions bar one: Marriage.
Obviously, she's got a rather entrepreneurial outlook on the institution of marriage. The winning bid has to be deposited into her personal account and she wants to sign a pre-nuptial agreement before actually tying the knot, reports Ananova.
The item states that Bidders must be aged between 24-35, UK resident British Citizens and be able to meet basic health requirements.
The auction, which ends on the 23rd December, was posted last night, but has yet to attract any bidders.
Update: And it's gone
Less than 24 hours after being posted, eBay has pulled the auction. Clicking through to the link now will only an invalid item message.
More information (thanks to Headline Alert) about Ms Hammond has been discovered: a release on her company's Press site (see 'Woman Magazine') tells the story of her last boyfriend, BT engineer Jason, who couldn't keep the pace with her drive for success.
Her auction ended on a frenzied series of bids, with 'honest_jims_used_car_sales' and 'niallgiggins' fighting it out for the lovely lass. Before being pulled, 'nialgiggins' was in the lead with a bid for £10 million.
'Honest_jims_used_car_sales' did contact El Reg to say he was just testing the system. As he says (and as his user profile shows), being married and 23 years old should have disqualified his bids anyway. ®
