Wife denies hitman plan on ex-Apple UK boss

Mr and Mrs Molyneux

The estranged wife of former Apple UK boss Jon Molyneux was in the Old Bailey yesterday, charged with attempting to hire three people to kill her husband.

Shelley Molyneux, 41, denies three counts of soliciting to murder between December 21 and February 2002.

Molyneux, a mother-of-four, was arrested at Gatwick Airport in February after returning from a skiing holiday in the Canadian Rockies with her boyfriend and three of her children.

She is accused of approaching Gavin Burrows, newspaper journalist Roger Insall, and finally an undercover cop called 'Clive', in an attempt to find a hit man.

Her trial starts on September 25 and will take around seven days.

The Molyneux's 21-year marriage collapsed last year. Jon Molyneux now lives in London with a 25-year old girlfriend, the Evening Standard reports.

Molyneux ran Apple UK for three years, leaving in 1999 to take charge at Scoot, the exceedingly troubled online directory. He left the company last year. ®
