Boris Becker sues T-Online

And has been for two years

Former Wimbledon champ, Boris Becker, is suing Germany's biggest ISP over alleged breach of copyright.

He claims T-Online used his image without his permission in a series of TV and newspaper ads in 1999 and 2000.

According to AP Becker's looking for $5.6m from T-Online - the ISP arm of Deutsche Telekom.

However, the revelations about Becker's legal action are not new.

A spokesman for T-Online said that this was an ongoing dispute that started in late 1999.

T-Online denies the claim made by the former tennis star.

It seems the resurfacing of this story coincided with Becker's conviction for tax evasion last week, which landed him a $500,000 fine and a two-year suspended sentence. ®
