Google pulls anti-Dixons adwords
Too little too late
Google is pulling anti-Dixons ads run by consumer champion, Marie Griffiths, because they fail to meet its Ts&Cs.
So says the The Australian Financial Review which picked up the story of Marie's crusade against the giant electrical retailer.
As it happens, it seems Marie isn't all that fussed at the ads being dropped since she's already outmanoeuvred Google and stopped the ads herself. After all, in terms of getting her plight noticed, the ads have already served their purpose and given her Mastercare Nightmare blog plenty of attention.
However, today could be a red letter day for Marie as Dixons has promised to deliver her TV (the one that's been bust since before Christmas, if you recall) this evening. Finger's crossed.
So, will that be the end of the matter? Somehow we doubt it. Marie is currently planning ahead to thoughts of compensation for the miserable treatment she's received at the hands of Dixons.
So far, she reckons it's cost her around £400 in wasted phone calls and lost days at work just to get back the busted telly she bought six months ago.
Oh, and the running total of money not spent at Dixons so far is now in excess of £250,000. Very amusing. ®
