J.D. Edwards sues Oracle and Ellison

J.D. Edwards has filed suit against Oracle in Colorado and another in California against Oracle CEO Larry Ellison and EVP Chuck Phillips. In the action against Oracle the company, J.D. Edwards is seeking $1.7 billion in damages for bad behavior. J.D. Edwards is all set to be scooped up by PeopleSoft and has charged Oracle with using nasty tactics to block the deal.

In the suit against Oracle the personality, J.D. Edwards is looking for a injunction to block any attempt at buying PeopleSoft, as a result of Ellison and Phillips' "wrongful conduct and unfair business practices."

"Oracle's unsolicted offer for PeopleSoft will only destroy value for our companies' shareholders, customers and employees and the technology community overall," said Bob Dutkowsky, CEO of J.D. Edwards, in a statement. "We will not sit by idly while Oracle pursues this arrogant, unlawful and destructive course of action."

The battle between these three companies leaves little to the imagination. A giant clothing line has been stretched across the enterprise software market, and it's chock full of dirty undies.

Oracle still appears ahead in the public relations war, but the shots against Ellison and Phillips score a point for the J.D. Edwards and PeopleSoft camp.
