Ingram Micro Europe restructures

Job losses?

In a curiously worded press release, Ingram Micro Europe yesterday "announced the sale" of its components business to another Ingram Micro subsidiary.

So for how much then? Ingram was unable to tell us. The new owner is Ingram Micro Components (Europe) GmbH which does what it says on the tin. It's the distie giant's European components business and it hangs out in Germany, and from now it will be the only Ingram Micro sub to flog components to Europe's system builders.

The curiously-worded press release tell us that Ingram Micro Europe will be undergoing a restructuring process. What's being restructured and who? Again, Ingram Micro Europe was unable to tell us.

We assume, as is the way of such things, that job losses in the offing. ®
