Epson trawls Blighty for new Osbournes

Web stardom beckons for UK's 'Most Typical Family'

If you're a member of a typical UK family - mum and dad arguing over credit card debts, twelve-year-old daughter up the duff, son subject to an anti-social behaviour order - then Epson is offering you the chance for international stardom.

From tomorrow, the company launches a nationwide search for the country's "Most Typical Family" which can "give the Osbournes and The Simpsons a run for their money".

The winners will enjoy 100 days of dizzy fame as the stars of The Epson Family - an online channel "following the family's every move from the time they wake up until the time they go to bed, covering every moment in their family life from Sunday lunch through to a wedding".

Yes that's right - each joy-filled moment from the traditional Sunday lunch punch-up to the time-honoured drunken wedding punch-up broadcast worldwide to a rapt audience of net voyeurs.

But it doesn't end there. The lucky winners will also secure shedloads of Epson kit plus £11,250. The latter is apparently the average UK family income for 100 days, although it's well below the average figure a British family will owe on high interest store cards and buy-now-pay-2010 hire purchase widescreen TVs.

Still, it's not be sniffed at and there is the further incentive of taking part in "an insightful investigation into the changing family dynamic".

So, if you think you and yours fit the bill, you can get details at the dedicated Epson website. The trawl for our most typical family kicks off tomorrow, and The Epson Family will be living their very own Truman Show from 1 March 2004. ®
