Unbundling ISP Bulldog is targetting SMEs with an "affordable" SDSL service. Available in unbundled exchanges in central London for now, Bulldog reckons it will be available "across the UK from early in 2005" as the company installs its kit in more of BT's telephone exchanges.
"Bulldog 2&2" - the name of its new SDSL service, which lets users send data as quickly as they receive it - costs from £160 a month with an activation fee of £250. All prices are ex VAT.
Said Richard Greco, chief exec of Bulldog Communications: "For many businesses, regular broadband is like only having an in-tray. Most companies need to send out as much as they receive, for which Bulldog 2&2 is the perfect solution."
In May, UK telco Cable & Wireless bought Bulldog for £18.6m. Set up in 2000, Bulldog has carved out a broadband niche, often using its own equipment to act as principal supplier, rather than as a simple reseller for BT Wholesale. The firm has installed its own gear in 38 BT exchanges in central London, installed under local loop unbundling (LLU) rules. ®
