Good touts mobile access to corporate databases
Does for CRM, ERP etc. what GoodLink does for email
Wireless enterprise data software provider Good Technology this week extended its GoodLink email and PIM client to other corporate applications.
The new service, dubbed GoodAccess, provides real-time access to applications and data usually shielded by the firewall. The software optimises data-readout for any Palm, PocketPC and, soon, Symbian handheld's screen without losing the workflow, navigation and other features desktop users take for granted, Good pledged.
GoodAccess operates across a wide range of devices and networks, including GSM, GPRS and Wi-Fi. Time-sensitive updates can be pushed out to remote devices, which are also able to retain information for offline access.
Data transfer is encrypted using AES, SSL and "advanced" password security, Good said, and compressed to speed transfers. GoodAccess-hosted mobile apps can also be erased remotely if the device is lost. Devices can also be set-up, provisioned with data and applications, and updated over the air.
GoodAccess comprises client- and server-side software components. Good is also bundling Above All's Above All Studio (AAS), the first mobile-application development environment certified by Good itself. AAS allows enterprises quickly to build desktop and mobile apps and tie them in through a variety of APIs to multiple corporate databases, All Above said.
GoodAccess is now available from Good and its US and European VAR channel. ®
