OnSpeed - the outfit that accelerates the speed of plain old dial-up internet access - has signed a distribution deal with BT. Financial details surrounding the tie-up were not released.
As part of the agreement, BT will give its BT Yahoo! Anytime customers a free 12-month subscription to OnSpeed.
BT Yahoo! Pay-as-you-Go punters will have to cough up £24.99 if they want to see their dial-up service speeded up.
It's the first time that OnSpeed has inked a deal with an ISP although negotiations are underway with other service providers in the UK and Europe.
The deal gives BT Yahoo! Internet customers "unrivalled dial-up speeds and allows BT to set its product apart from the competition", said OnSpeed co-founder Jamie True.
Launched 13 months ago, OnSpeed has more than 200,000 users in the UK and uses compression technology to speed up net access. ®
