Lancaster-based ISP Business Serve is launching a broadband telephony service next month after teaming up with broadband hardware manufacturer Zyxel Communications UK.
Exact details of the service, which is aimed at home users, should be announced later this month but it's understood that the subscription to the VoIP service will be less than £3 a month with additional savings made on the cost of calls.
Punters buying a Zyxel router from next month will be able to use a "plug-and-play" CD developed by Business Serve to make use of cheap calls.
Said Business Serve boss Simon Cleaver: "Our Internet telephony service and Zyxel's hardware combine to provide a cost effective VoIP solution aimed at all levels of end user but particularly the domestic market via high street retail outlets. It will enable consumers to substantially cut their fixed line telephone calls and the associated cost." ®
