Need a bespoke drive-by shooting, web app?
Those readers who need internet-based application development services, advice on low rider pick-up trucks or who would like to organise a drive-by shooting are pointed in the direction of Bristol-based Cholo Consultancy - a "one-stop IT consultancy" which appears to be run by Hispanic males dressed in "chinos, a wifebeater sleeveless teeshirt or a flannel shirt with only the top buttoned, a hairnet, or a bandana around the forehead, usually halfway down over the eyes".
Yes indeed, that's the Urban Dictionary definition of cholo, which continues: "Cholos often have black ink tattoos, commonly involving Catholic imagery, or calligraphy messages or family names. Cholos often drive low riders."
Well, it makes a refreshing change from earnest geeks in black t-shirts, and if you find yourself with a little "business trouble", then Cholo Consultancy can always take the low rider round the block and pump your rivals' premises full of lead.
And what do the Bristol cholos get up to when they're not unbuttoning their wifebeater shirts and ironing their bandanas? They apparently hang out down at the Dude Factory where fellow cholos can knock together a free avatar "Dude or Dudette from hundreds of different body parts, clothes, items and backgrounds to express your personality and mood!"
It works, too, because in just a few minutes we were able to create the authentic cholo avatar seen here in a suitably urban environment. Ok, we're short of a bandana and low rider, but it'll do the job nicely on Yahoo! Messenger. ®
