Oracle developers - fancy a trip into space?

Suborbital jaunt up for grabs

It's not often that we at Vulture Central are moved to gasp "blimey, that's a really good prize", but that was the general reaction around the office when we learned that Oracle is giving away a suborbital flight to one lucky developer who works with the company's software.

Yup, we're talking a top grab of $138,000 worth of space jaunt and cash plus other prizes including Apple Powerbook G4s, iPods and DVDs as part of the Oracle Space Sweepstakes.

Naturally, there are conditions. First up, the prize draw is open only "to software developers who work with Oracle software in connection with their employment". Moreover, you must be a legal resident of either United Kingdom, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, Denmark, Italy, Russia, South Africa or Sweden.

To enter, simply click here. You will be asked to complete an online registration form and launch a tutorial which involves correctly answering some multiple-choice questions. And, if your name comes out of the hat after the closing date of 30 June, you could be on your way to joining the 62-mile-high club.

Full details on the sweepstake, including rules, conditions and full prize details are available on the competition homepage.
