Missing Dalek found on Glastonbury Tor
Early arrival for the FEST-TI-VAL?
A stolen Dalek has been recovered from Glastonbury Tor following its theft from a Somerset tourist attraction last week. Thieves left a "ransom" note demanding to speak to the Doctor, along with the Dalek's plunger arm, shortly after pinching the demented pepper pot from Wookey Hole Caves.
Appeals for the safe return of the Dalek, believed to be a rare example of a model from the original Doctor Who series, were answered early on Tuesday when staff received an anonymous tip off. Thieves claimed the Dalek was "too hot to handle" and said that its owners would be able to recover it from Glastonbury Tor, the BBC reports.
Indeed with Geocomtex CEO Henry Van Statten out of the picture and Davros missing, at least until a possible appearance in next weekend's season finale, you'd be hard put to find a fence for the murderous metal-encased mutant. Cave owner Gerry Cottle denies that the theft was all a publicity stunt. The Dalek was in temporary storage at the Wookey Hole site after earlier going on exhibition at the Bath and West show. ®
