Man flogs debt on eBay

Debt Free? Then buy some!!

Updated If you, like the average Reg hack, live a life of opulence and excess fuelled by limitless supplies of cash, then you have undoubtedly wondered how it would be to owe money for a short, experimental period.

Nothing too serious, mind. Around £22k ought to get that real-life poverty feeling until the novelty wears off and you jet back to your yacht in Cannes.

Well, we're in luck. One eBayer is offering to transfer his debt to one bidder in order that they might "dodge those phone calls, hide from the baliffs [sic], and run from the courts..... even start a new life abroad".

Good stuff. Here's the pitch:

SAVE TIME - NO REASON TO TRUDGE THE STREETS/INTERNET WONDERING HOW TO GET YOURSELF INTO DEBT, IT HAS BEEN TAKEN CARE OF FOR YOU.

BE FASHIONABLE - IT IS NO LONGER COOL TO CREATE DEBT, BUT IT IS COOL TO BUY SOMEONE ELSES.

CANCEL XMAS - ALWAYS WANTED TO TELL YOUR KIDS XMAS IS CANCELLED? WELL NOW YOU CAN.

Ah yes, just the thought of those tear-filled little eyes staring at the empty stocking on Xmas Day fair warms the cockles of one's heart. Anyone wishing to "live in Dispare [sic] over your spiralling finances?" has six days to make a pitch. Happy penury. ®

Bah, humbug

Ta very much to our ever-alert readers who note that eBay pulled the auction at around 4.30pm UK time. We are now offering an eBay-auction-killing service at £500 pound a pop since it seems that every time we try and spread a little e-commerce sunshine the Scrooges down at the world's favourite online marketplace stick the boot in. Used notes only, please, to the usual address.
