Logitech unrolls cylindrical iPod-friendly speaker unit
Audio on the move or on the shelf
Logitech will next month fill out its iPod-oriented portable speaker line-up with a mid-range set designed to provide up to ten hours' playing time using four AA batteries, though it's bundled with an AC adaptor for on-shelf playback too.
The one-piece mm32 set places a pair of cylinder-enclosed speakers either side of a cradle capable of recharging an iPod and, with some clever cabling, other MP3 players, Logitech said. The set sources sound using the player's earphone socket. The portable unit is 28.5cm long and 6cm in diameter.
The mm32 will be offered in black and white versions when it ships in Europe at the start of May for €80 and £40. The set goes on sale in the US this month, for $80. ®
