Tesco's IT director 44 year old Philip Clarke is paid £2.2m for his work at the supermarket. Clarke has been on the board of directors since 1998.
Clarke is responsible for Tesco international expansion, mainly in eastern Europe and south-east Asia, as well as its computer systems. The supermarket has more than 800 stores outwith the UK and is soon to open its first US store.
