Elonex: administrators lay off 28

Official statement

Deloitte and Touche have confirmed they are administrators for computer maker Elonex Plc and that 28 people have been laid off.

Neville Kahn and Nick Edwards were appointed administrators for the the Northwest London-based vendor on 12 June. In a statement sent to The Register, the administrators said:

"The administrators are taking steps to stabilise the business in order that it may continue trading. The administrators made 28 redundancies on appointment reflecting the deterioration of trading conditions. Forty-eight employees remain employed by the company."

Neville Kahn said: "Elonex has a strong customer base and good products and with the support of the company's staff, customers, and suppliers we are hopeful that we will be able to conclude a sale of the business as a going concern."

A further update is likely next week. ®
