T-Mobile has announced its intention to ship an own-brand version of HTC's TyTN, also known as the Orange SPV M3100. The German carrier's incarnation of the HSDPA-enabled 3G device will be called the MDA Vario II.

The Vario II will provides 802.11b/g Wi-Fi and GSM/GPRS/EGDE connectivity in addition to 3G networking, T-Mobile said. The device has a German-friendly keyboard, but in other respects it's akin to other forms of the TyTN: it runs Windows Mobile 5.0 with push email support, has a jogwheel for navigation and icon selection, sports a two megapixel camera and a 240 x 320 display, and has a MicroSD slot for storage expansion.

T-Mobile added that it is also bundling the device with RIM's BlackBerry Connect software, though the push email app isn't pre-loaded on the Vario II.

The MDA Vario II will be available from 14 August for €359.59 (£242) on T-Mobile Germany's €28 (£19) a month Relax 100 tariff on a 24-month post-pay contract. ®
