Dell gets new Euro head

Marmonti the man

Dell has appointed David Marmonti as its new European boss.

Marmonti, now senior vice president and president of Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, was most recently running public sector sales for Dell. He is replacing Paul Bell who is returning to the US.

The shake up follows the return of Michael Dell to the top of the company he founded. Michael Dell replaced Kevin Rollins as CEO at the end of January.

Michael Dell sent staff an email shortly after re-taking the top job saying there would be no bonuses this year except some discretionary awards.

Dell is struggling to refind its focus. It is under investigation by the Securities and Exchange Commission and is being sued by shareholders who allege it took kickbacks from chip giant Intel to maintain its exclusive relationship. ®
