Gaming PC parts provider BFG Technologies has released a 16 per cent overclocked, water-cooled graphics card based on Nvidia's GeForce 8800 GTS chip.
The GPU and the 640MB of GDDR 3 memory sit under a copper heatblock through which the water is pumped from a separate piping system. The liquid provides sufficient cooling for BFG to up the GPU's core clock speed from 500MHz to 580MHz and the memory clock from 1600MHz to 1700MHz, an increase of just over six per cent.
Earlier this year, BFG launced a similar card, this time based on the 8800 GTX. That went for around $899, so the $549 GeForce 8800 GTS OC 640MB Water Cooled Edition is likely to appeal to gamers working to a tighter budget. The card is available now.
