Sony Ericsson illuminates web with K660

Sony Ericsson’s latest is aimed squarely at youngsters, to provide “web for youth”, as the company puts it. The K660 packs HSDPA connectivity and a host of web-friendly features.

The quad-band handset can link to RSS news feeds, helping give it a wider appeal than just a portable email checker. Web pages are displayed in landscape mode on its 2in, 240 x 320 display, while its keys light up when users surf the web - maybe so you can use it to surf in the dark.

Alternatively, its display also allows for browsing through your collection of pictures snapped on the handset’s two-megapixel camera, and stored on the bundled 256MB Memory Stick Micro card.

But since this capacity’s a little limited, the built-in Bluetooth and USB will help you save some storage capacity by giving you a way to transfer content off the phone and onto a PC.

Its Bluetooth connectivity also extends to A2DP, for wireless music streaming to, say, a pair of wireless headphones or compatible stereo.

The K660 is available from Q1 2008, but a price hasn't been highlighted yet.
