Trading Standards comes a calling on Cardiff's software sellers

Pulls a FAST one

Trading Standards and the Federation Against Software Theft teamed up for the first time today to start cold calling on software resellers in Cardiff to check their stock.

Trading Standards will use its powers under the Trademark Act to check if software offered for sale is legit. The Federation will be doing its bit by providing advice to Trading Standards officers.

Trading Standards' use of its powers of inspection in this way marks another first for the body.

Earlier this week the Federation announced the appointment of a new chief executive, previous FAST director general John Lovelock. ®
