Indian man marries dog to lift mutt-murder curse
Paralysed after stoning canines to death
An Indian man has married a dog in the hope that the nuptials will lift a curse which has hung over him for 15 years since he stoned a couple of mutts to death, the BBC reports.
P Selvakumar, 33, claimed he'd suffered paralysis and hearing loss since the incident. A relative told the Beeb: "Fifteen years back Selvakumar was physically fit. But, once he attacked a pair of dogs and thereafter [he] could not move his limbs freely. He tried every cure for his ailment but could not be rid of his disability.
"On the advice of an astrologer and others, he decided to marry a bitch to get cured. Then we arranged Selvakumar's marriage with a bitch."
The happy event took place at a Hindu temple in Manamudurai, Tamil Nadu state. The bride, known as "Selvi", was led to the ceremony wearing an orange sari with a flower garland. After the traditional Hindu vows, the four-legged newly-wed was fed a bun in celebration as crowds cheered the couple.
The BBC has a heart-warming snap of the blushing bride here. ®
