Spinning, flashing Linux logo droid comes to UK

Geek love

What gift do you give the Linux nut who has everything? Why, a programmable Linux mascot droid that spins around on its rump, that's what.

Tux Droid

Tux Droid: it squawks! It lights up! It codes Perl!

The ersatz felt-covered Tux is wireless and radio-controlled, courtesy of a fish-styled IR pick up and 2.4GHz transmitter unit that plugs into a spare USB port on your PC. He talks and is capable of relaying VoIP conversations and reading out RSS feeds.

Still not enough? Then use the bundled software - open source, natch - and your coding skills to get him working on whatever tasks you see fit.

And for one here's a product the not only works with Linux but only works with Linux. Mac and Windows can clear off out of it - they're not wanted here.

Now available in the UK, the Tux Droid costs £90 from Firebox.
