Nokia blings up Prism fashion phone with synthetic gem
A Vertu for the less well-off?
If you love diamonds and bling, then forget jewellery, because Nokia’s latest Prism handset is apparently the in thing for the design-conscious tech consumer.
Nokia's 7900 Crystal Prism: a real gem?
The 7900 Crystal Prism, which sits on the shelf above the one decorated by Nokia’s existing 7500 Prism - reviewed here - has a similar diamond design. But it also features a man-made sapphire centre key and wallpapers that apparently “communicate the reflection of light and capture the feel of angular prisms and triangles”, it says here.
...and it's got a sculpted rear-end too
The phone has an 16.7m-colour OLED display to show off any photos you snap of glamorous parties, taken on the phone’s two-megapixel camera with 8x digital zoom. Don’t get too snap-happy, though, because the 7900's only got 1GB of internal memory and there’s no mention of an external memory card slot.
However, any self-respecting catwalk queen knows mobiles are more about working on the move or arranging lunch, so you’ll be glad it provides quad-band GSM/GPRS connectivity and 3G. Oh, and as your outfits change, the lights embedded in the keypad can display up to 48 different colours. Is there no end to Nokia’s innovations, dahlinks?
Nokia’s 7900 Crystal Prism is expected to be available next month for around £300 (€400/$600) if bought SIM-free.
